GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Fighting Sioux men's cross country team finished second and the women's team third at the Ron Pynn Invitational, held at the Roy Richards golf course Friday afternoon.
The Fighting Sioux men captured four of the top ten positions, finishing the day with a total score of 44. Leading the way for the men was Jonathan "Skip" Gilson (Maple Valley, Wash.) who finished fourth with a time of 25:51. Sophomore Josh LaBlanc (International Falls, Minn.) captured seventh place with a time of 26:05. Senior Kyle Downs (Hibbing, Minn.) and Kyle Rosseau (Eagan, Minn.) rounded out the top ten for UND, finishing ninth and tenth respectively.
The women were led by senior Heidi Evans (Roseau, Minn.) who captured second place with a time of 18:49. Also placing in the top ten for UND was senior Kristy Keithley (Dickinson, N.D.), who finished with a time of 19:30 to take seventh place.
The men and women’s teams will travel to Dickinson, N.D. to take part in the Dickinson State Invitational on Sept. 20 at 4 p.m.
