WALNUT, Calif.--North Dakota senior Heidi Evans enjoyed a spectacular afternoon today at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays, breaking her own school record in the 1,500-meter run.

Evans, a Roseau, Minn., native, completed the race in 4:24.66, which is also an NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championship automatic qualifying time.

Evans finished in 15th place in the race, which featured several of the top runners in the country.

Evans' performance on Sunday concludes a memorable week for the senior standout. Just two days ago, Evans ran a personal best time in the 800-meter run at the Azusa Pacific Invitational. Last Sunday Evans took first place in the 800 meters at the Marauder Open in Bismarck, N.D.
