Hi everyone,
So this week has been busy at the rink with practice, workouts and a game in Alexandria, Minn., on Wednesday night. Everyone got back into Blaine on Friday after having a six day break with practice starting early on Saturday.
This week we have been gearing up for the Four Nations tournament in Finland, which we left for on Friday. We left Minneapolis at 10:00 a.m. and had a four hour layover in New York. The flight from NY to Finland is about seven hours and we land in Finland at 8:30 a.m. When we land our schedule does not allow us too much downtime because they try to get us adjusted to the time difference as quick as possible.
Because we will be in Finland on Halloween the team celebrated early by having a costume party. Everyone had to pick a name out of a hat and dress as that person. I (Jocelyne) picked Jessie Vetter and decided to dress as the Patty Kazmeir trophy, which is the Hobey Baker of women's hockey. Vetter was the winner of it last year and won the Sportswomen of the Year Award a month ago. So I delivered a few acceptance speaches as well to stay in character.
Monique drew Molly Engstrom and dressed as a cow. Molly wears a cow-print hat often and brand new nike shoes every week. The video is our teammates presenting their costumes to the team. Our next videos will be from Finland. Good luck to the women in St. Cloud this weekend!
