Hello everyone! It is my fifth year as a Fighting Sioux women's basketball player. I can honestly say that my five years here have flown by, but I have some great memories that will stay with me forever.
One of these memories would have to be the record I set my freshman year of basketball. I do not know if a lot of people are aware of this record, but it happened in my first game as a collegiate athlete. Most points scored in a game? No. Most rebounds? Nope. My record, which I still hold to this day, is fouling out in four minutes and thirty-seven seconds! For those that think this feat is impossible, I accomplished it with flying colors. I still hear about my "record" to this day and I just have to laugh.
Making memories is great, but it is the people you make them with that really count. We are a team, but we are also a family. We are all there for one another, and this is truly incredible because I know other teams that do not have this kind of strength.
As for this year, we are all working toward one goal; the chance to be involved in post-season play. It will take a lot of hard work, and we are going to have to beat some tough teams, but the challenge is what makes it worth the struggle.
We have had an excellent pre-season thanks to our strength and conditioning coach Nate Baukol. He motivates us to work hard in the weight room and even harder on the court. This motivation was carried on by our great coaching staff throughout these past couple weeks of practice as we prepared for our first games. It is hard to not be inspired by the dedication the coaches and you, as fans, commit to women's basketball here at UND.
Hopefully you can make it to our game tonight because we are a force to be dealt with when our fans our behind us. See you there and thanks for reading!
