First off, I want to start by thanking all the fans that have stuck by our side and supported us through the ups and downs this season. We didn't have the best attendance last Saturday at the Cal Poly game, but the fans that were there made an impact.
Thanks again to those individuals. We really appreciate it.
Last weekend we defeated the Cal Poly Mustangs, 31-17. The Mustangs were ranked 16th in the FCS Coaches Poll. Cal Poly is a good program with great athletes.
The Mustangs' offense had a couple of big plays here and there, but our defense limited them, which was big. We stopped their option attack and forced them throw the ball, which was our game plan from the start.
On offense, we played a pretty good game. We were able to move the ball and had several long drives. Our special teams did a very good job exchanging yards in-between each series.
Overall, the entire team played very well and stayed focused on the task at hand, which was to win.
We are now 4-4 overall and are tied for first place in the Great West Conference at 2-1. We still have the chance to win the GWC for the first time.
This Saturday, we take on the Southern Oregon Raiders as our last home game at the Alerus Center. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
