GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head volleyball coach Ashley Hardee announced the addition of Dan Brown to his coaching staff on Monday. Brown will take over as the full-time assistant coach for a Fighting Sioux team that is coming off a season where it won the Great West Conference regular season and tournament titles.

"We are very excited to have Dan Brown join our program,” Hardee said. “Dan is very passionate and knowledgeable about the game. Also, he is well respected in the Midwest club scene, which will help us secure some of the top talent in this region.

“I have perennial Top 50 expectations for this program and Dan shares that same vision with me. We will continue our path of bringing a tradition of excellence to Fighting Sioux volleyball."

Brown spent the previous season as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Minnesota where the Golden Gophers posted a 28-8 record and reached the NCAA Final Four. Prior to joining the Gophers’ staff, Brown served as the Under 15 Director of the Minnesota One Volleyball club team for eight years. In 2010, he led Minnesota One to a No. 10 national ranking.

He also spent three seasons as a varsity head coach at Bloomington Jefferson High School from 2003-05.

Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May of 2009. He also has an associate degree in elementary education foundations from Normandale Community College.
