Women's golf team finishes play at Hawaii tournament

KANE‘OHE, O‘ahu--The Fighting Sioux women's golf team put the finishing touches on the 25th annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational today, putting forth its best round of the two-day event hosted by the University of Hawaii.

North Dakota placed 17th with a three-round 1,046 (351-359-336).

Rollins captured the team title with a 904 total (300-306-298). Rollins went into the final round tied for third with San Francisco, three strokes behind Nova Southeastern, but was able to take the lead by firing a 298. Nova Southeastern finished second, while San Francisco finished in third.

Louisa Lies of Fresno State (66-76-74=216) took home medalist honors. Lies blew away the rest of the field, carding the lowest round of the tournament (66) and finishing five strokes ahead of the second-place individual, Sandra Changkija of Nova Southeastern.

Senior Kristi Lucken (Fosston, Minn.) was the top finisher for the Sioux, tying for 60th with a 244 (81-84-79). Her 79 during today's final round was the lowest round by a Sioux during the tournament.
