UND baseball extends camp deadlines

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University
of North Dakota head baseball coach Jeff Dodson announced an extension to previous set deadlines for all camps the coaching staff and Fighting Sioux will conduct this fall.
Dodson is entering his second
year guiding the baseball program through its transition to the
Division I level. The deadline to register for selected camps is typically a
week prior to the actual camp date and all participants must fill out
a registration card and a liability waiver in order to be able to
participate.
2009 Fighting Sioux Baseball Camps High School Select Camp (Grades 9-12) Oct. 4, Kraft Field (1-5 p.m.) - $50 Registration will be kept open until camp is filled (limited to 80 players)
The
Select Camp is designed for up-and-coming high school prospects who
want to enhance their baseball skills to an optimal level. Players will
be evaluated on their baseball skills, knowledge and performance. They
will also learn how to progress both on and off the field and increase
knowledge regarding all facets of baseball.
Pitcher/Catcher Camp (Ages 8-18) Nov. 1, Hyslop Sports Center (1-5 p.m.) - $60 Deadline to register is Oct. 25 (limited to 50 players)
This
camp is designed specifically for pitchers and catchers. These athletes
will receive instruction on the fundamentals of pitching and catching
which will translate into success on the field.
SKILLS CAMP I & II (Ages 8-18) Camp I - Nov. 8, Hyslop Sports Center (1-5 p.m.) - $60 Camp II - Nov. 15, Hyslop Sports Center (1-5 p.m.) - $60 Deadline to register is Nov. 1 for Camp 1 and Nov. 1 for Camp II (limited to 60 players per camp)
The
Fighting Sioux skill camps will cover all fundamentals of the game,
including hitting, pitching, throwing, fielding and base running.
Campers will have the opportunity to learn the little intricacies of
the game that lead to improved performance on the field.
$60 - HITTING SCHOOLS (Ages 8-18) Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13, Hyslop Sports Center - $60 Deadline to register for these three camps are Nov. 22, Nov. 29 and Dec.6 (limited to 24 players per hour) 1-2 p.m. (Ages 8-12) 2-3 p.m. (Ages 13-18) 3-4 p.m. (All Ages)
This
specialized hitting school is designed for players who want to improve
their approach at the plate by learning the same mechanics and
approaches used by hitters at the Division I level.
