Sioux place 37 on Great West All-Academic Winter/Spring team

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota placed 37 student-athletes on the 2009 Great West Conference Winter/Spring All-Academic team, announced today by the conference office.

 

Among UND’s 37 selections were nine from women’s track and field, seven from women’s basketball, four each from men’s track and field, baseball and women’s golf, three each from men’s basketball and tennis, two from men’s golf and one from softball.

 

Of the 11 Great West Conference student-athletes to boast cumulative 4.0 grade point averages, threeare from UND: junior basketball player Alys Seay and junior track athletes Sara Carpenter and Kristi Dahlheimer.

 

In order to be named to the team, student-athletes must achieve a cumulative 3.2 grade point average and have competed in at least 50 percent of their team’s competitions.
