About UND:

The Fighting Sioux have amassed a 21-4 record thus far in the 2008 season.  They are a relatively young team, with no seniors on their roster.  Statistically, their balance offense is led by 4 hitters that have totaled over 200 kills this season so far.  Britta Hanson leads the way with 299 kills in 88 games for an average of 3.4 per game.  Following behind her are Devin Trefz with 255 kills and 2.9 kills per game, Amanda Polzin with 223 kills on an average of 2.59 per game, and Annika Smed has 206 kills for an average of 2.26 kills per game.  Setter Megan Langseth is the assist leader on the team with 909 total assists this season for an average of 10.82 per game, in 84 games.  Defensively, Lindsay Vortherms leads the way with 398 digs in 88 games and 4.52 per game.

 

The Fighting Sioux are coached by interim first year coach Kari Peterson, who served as an assistant coach her two prior seasons with the team.

About VCSU:

The Vikings currently hold a 9-14 overall record this season under third year coach Craig Case.  Case led the team to a 15-17 overall record last year.  The 2007 season saw the Vikings return 5 letterwinners, including 5 starters.  Key players for the team are Setter Megan Floerke, and hitters Heidi Larson and Emily Goedert.  Floerke has totaled 731 assists this season, with an average of 8.7 assists per game.  Larson has accumulated 83 kills this season for an average of 3.19 kills per game, having played in only 26 games.  Goedert has amassed 125 kills in 62 games on 2.02 kills per game.  This season, the Vikings are holding a 9-14 overall record.

Parking

Parking is on site at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Please park north or south of the arena. It is free. A parking permit is required to park in the UND Wellness Center lot west of the Betty. Violaters may be ticketed.
