GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- University of North Dakota sophomore forward Rachael Loomis was announced today on the 2009 Academic District 7 Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and presented by ESPN The Magazine.
A native of Fargo, N.D., Loomis is a pre-med major and leads the Sioux with nine goals this season. She has also scored two assists for a team-leading 20 points.
Played and started in all 17 games for the Fighting Sioux her freshman year, Loomis recorded three goals, including two game-winning goals, and seven assists on the season for 13 points. She ranked first on the team in number of assists (seven), second on the team in number of points (13) and shots (42).

Loomis and the Sioux return to action next weekend (Nov. 6-9) as they head to Newark, N.J., for the inaugural Great West Conference Tournament.
