Loomis and Boehmer named to Great West All-Conference Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. --- Sophomore Rachael Loomis and senior Mandi Boehmer were named to the Great West Soccer All-Conference Team announced today by the conference.

Loomis, a native of Fargo, N.D., scored a team-leading nine goals and 20 points for the Sioux as she was one of three forwards named to the team along with Nicole Archibald and Jamie Lyons, both of Utah Valley. Loomis led the team in assists her freshman campaign with seven while scoring two goals for 11 points.

This season Loomis leads the entire Great West Conference (both divisions) in points and goals while being third in shots.

A co-captain for the Sioux this season, Boehmer scored three goals and three assists this season as a midfielder. From Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Boehmer tallied 13 goals and eight assists in her four years for the Sioux. Other midfielders named to the team were Isla Cameron of Houston Baptist and Athena Mayer of Utah Valley.

The Wolverines lead the Division with six players named to the team while HBU had three, UND two and South Dakota one.

The Sioux along with the other seven teams from the conference open action tomorrow in Newark, N.J., in the inaugural GWC Tournament. The Sioux and top-seeded New Jersey Institute of Technology while play in the final game of the day at 7:30 p.m. ET.
