SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The UND men’s track and field team closed down their pre-Great West Outdoor Championship schedule Thursday afternoon by pulling in several significant performances at the University of Sioux Falls Last Chance Meet.

Chris Stoks (Fr., Virginia, Minn.) ran to a first place finish in the 400-meter dash with his winning time of :48.78.

Kyle Rosseau (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) took the runner-up position in the 800-meter run with his second place time of 1:57.78. Senior Jeremy Jones (Grand Forks, N.D.) finished the race in fifth place (1:59.46).

Freshman Carl Sedgeman (Sauk Centre, Minn.) finished the 5,000-meter run in a time of 17:45.18, edging out the second place finisher Jimmy Thomas by over 21 seconds, to capture first place.

Bryant Salomon (So., Woodland, Wash.) took third in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.81), while Grand Forks native Matt Elbert finished the 400-meter hurdles in a time of :59.17 for sixth place.

Senior Jay Schroeder (Cavalier, N.D.) finished third in the pole vault (15’) while newcomer Cal Nauman (Billings, Mont.) took sixth (12-6”).

Junior Travis Schultz (Lakeville, Minn.) led the Fighting Sioux in the shot put with his fourth place finish of 44-9 ½” before finishing seventh in both the discus (143-06") and hammer (134-11”) throw.

Daniel Sjarpe (Fr., Lanesboro, Minn.) finished eighth in the shot put (41-1”) and eleventh both in the discus (126-09”) and the hammer (105-2”) throw.

Senior Rusty Kjos (Kenmare, N.D.) finished fourth in the hammer throw (140’) before taking 14th in the discus throw (110-11”).

Spencer Moe (Fr., Aloha, Ore.) captured a fifth place finish in the hammer throw while taking 17th in the discus throw (102-01”).

The Fighting Sioux will wrap-up their outdoor season May 14-16 when they participate in the Great West Outdoor Championships, which will be held in Houston, Texas.
