UND ties for second with Manitoba, Monda finishes second overall

OXBOW, N.D. - The Fighting Sioux men's golf team finished the NDSU Erv Kaiser Invitational today tied Manitoba for second place. The Sioux men compiled a three-round score of 883 (299, 291, 293). Sophomore Tyler Monda (Brainerd, Minn.) shot a four under par and lead the Sioux by placing second with an overall score of 212 (69, 70, 73).

Nick Schaefer (Fr., Grand Forks, N.D.) tied for fourth place overall and carded a score of 216( 70, 72, 74). Teammate Alex Robb (Fr., Chanhassen, Minn.) posted a three-round score of 221 (75, 72, 74), which put him tied for eighth place overall. Sophomore Patrick Thomas (Fargo, N.D.) tied for 13th place with an overall score of 222 (78, 75, 69).

Matthew Wrolstad (So., Fargo, N.D.) ended the invitational tied for 21st and carded a three-round score of 225 (78, 70, 77). Senior Dustin Steiner (Fargo, N.D.) tied for 27th with an overall score of 228 (7, 74, 77). Rounding out the final day of competition for the Sioux men at 44th place was junior Michael Holm (Fargo, N.D.) who carded a three-round score of 239 (78, 76, 85).

The Fighting Sioux men's golf team will continue their 2009 fall season at the Cleveland State Invitational in Cleveland, Ohio on Sept. 28.
