Sioux Men finish tied for 7th with Butler University

CHARDON, Ohio - The Fighting Sioux men's golf team concluded their competition today in the Telich Sun Life Invitational by compiling a two-round score of 628 (318-310) to put them in a tie for seventh place with Butler University. Malone College won the invitational with an overall team score of 598 (295-303). The competition was cut to only 36 holes due to rain.

Tyler Monda (So., Brainerd, Minn.) finished fourth at the invitational with a score of 150 (77-73). Posting a two-round overall score of 155 (79-76) was senior Dustin Steiner (Fargo, N.D.) who finished tied for 17th. Freshman Patrick Thomas (Fargo, N.D.) carded an overall score of 161 (80-81) which put him tied for 40th place.

Finishing tied for 58th place was Alex Robb (Fr., Chanhassen, Minn.), who posted a two-round score of 168 (82-86). Rounding out the two-day competition for the Fighting Sioux men was freshman Nick Schaefer (Grand Forks, N.D.) who finished tied for 67th place. Schaefer carded an overall score of 173 (93-80).

The Sioux men will be in action next Monday, Oct. 5th at the Firestone Grill Invite in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
