Fighting Sioux men's golf finishes seventh

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The Fighting Sioux men's golf team completed the final round of competition today in the Firestone Grill College Invitational by finishing seventh with a three-round overall score of 908 (300-309-299). Cal Poly won the invitational by posting an overall score of 859.

Leading the way for the Fighting Sioux was Patrick Thomas (So., Fargo, N.D.) who tied for fourth with a three-round total of 215 (67-76-75).

Tyler Monda (So., Brainerd, Minn.) finished tied for 31st place. Monday posted an overall score of 227 (76-79-72) in the two-day event. Senior captain Dustin Steiner (Fargo, N.D.) finished in 33rd place with a score of 228 (76-78-74).

Finishing tied for 40th place was freshman Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.) who rounded out the three-round competition with a total score of 238 (81-79-78). Rounding out the final day for the Sioux was Brock Olson (So., Orr, Minn.) who posted an overall score of 253 (82-83-88).

The Sioux men will continue their fall season on Oct. 11th in Vermillion, S.D.
