UND Men complete 2009 fall season at the UTPA Golf Classic

EDINBURG, Texas - The Fighting Sioux Men's Golf team completed their 2009 fall season at the UTPA Golf Classic which was held at the Los Lagos Golf Course. The Sioux men finished third after the two-day competition with a three-round score of 936 (314-319-303). Texas-Pan American won their own event with an overall score of 914.

Sophomore Tyler Monda (Brainerd, Minn.) cut six strokes off of his second round to post a 76 in the final round of competition. Monda finished tied for 11th place with an overall score o f236 (78-82-76).
Patrick Thomas (So., Fargo, N.D.) placed 14th with a three-round score of 237 (83-78-76).

Teammates Matthew Wrolstad (So., Fargo, N.D.) and freshman Alex Robb (Chanhassen, Minn.) both tied for 15th place with a final score of 238.

Senior Dustin Steiner (Fargo, N.D.) finished the final day of competition in 19th place. Steiner sliced off five strokes in this third round of competition to finish with a two-day total of 241 (84-81-76).

The Fighting Sioux Men will return to action in the spring.
