UND beats South Dakota in lone home event of the season

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - The University of North Dakota finished the final day of competition beating South Dakota  979 (333-322-324) to 1041 (351-354-336) today at the Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Kristi Lucken (Sr., Fosston, Minn.) took home medalist honors for the Fighting Sioux women by shooting a score of 76 in the final day of competition. Lucken had an overall score of 231 (80-75-76=231).

Teammate Lauryn Job (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) placed second by carding an overall score of 246 (85-82-79). Freshman Shantel Montgomery (Minot, N.D.) placed fourth in the three-day event by posting an 83 in her final day on the course, which gave her an overall score of 251 (85-83-83).

Megan Grozdanich (Fr. Grand Rapids, Minn.) carded a 90 in her last day of competition to give her a three-day total of 259 (83-86-90) which secured her sixth place. Junior Molly Martin (Ramsey, Minn.) took home seventh place for the Sioux by carding an 86. Martin had a three-day total of 263 (95-82-86).

Finishing ninth for the Sioux women was Robin Hutchinson (Fr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) with a three-day total of 297 (89-83-95). Abby Rueter (So., Sartell, Minn.) posted a 94 in her last day of competition. Rueter had a three-day total of 284 (97-93-94).

Next up for the Sioux women will be the CSU Cougar Classic in Chicago, Illinois on Sept. 21.
