Sioux Women finish their 2009 fall season with a 4th place finish at the UTPA Golf Classic

EDINBURG, Texas - The UND Women's Golf team finished their 2009 fall season of competition by placing 4th in the UTPA Golf Classic today at the Los Lagos Golf Course. The Fighting Sioux women compiled a three-round score of 1039 (350-342-347) in the two-day event. Houston Baptist University lead both days of competition to claim first place with a score of 941.

Senior Kristi Lucken (Fosston, Minn.) placed 14th overall with a score of 254 (84-85-85). Lauryn Job (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) cared a three-round score of 259 (87-85-87) to finish tied for 17th.

Freshman Shantel Montgomery (Minot, N.D.) finished in 19th place with an overall score of 260 (88-85-87). Robin Hutchinson (Fr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) finished in 20th place with a three-day total of 267 (91-87-89).

Megan Grozdanich (Fr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) finished three strokes behind her teammate Hutchinson to grab 21st place with a two-day total of 270 (92-90-88).

UND will return to action next spring.
